Beyoncé Cowboy Carter Grammy Win : Beyoncé’s country album, Cowboy Carter, took home Album of the Year at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 2. The highly anticipated award was presented by the L.A. Fire Department.

“I want to express my gratitude and appreciation for all the firefighters who keep us safe. I feel incredibly honored and overwhelmed,” she said in her acceptance speech. “This has been a long journey, and I just want to thank the Grammys, every songwriter, collaborator, and producer for their hard work.”

Cowboy Carter, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts in March, was up against seven major contenders: Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department, Charli XCX’s Brat, Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet, Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft, André 3000’s New Blue Sun, Chappell Roan’s The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, and Jacob Collier’s Djesse Vol. 

Beyoncé secured an impressive 11 nominations this year, including three in major categories. Earlier in the evening, she made history as the first Black woman to win Best Country Album. She also won Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “II Most Wanted” with Miley Cyrus during the Grammy pre-ceremony.

In 2023, Beyoncé made history as the most-awarded artist in Grammy history with Renaissance. On Sunday, she added three more wins, bringing her total to 35 awards and 99 nominations.

Cowboy Carter Takes the Top Honor at the 67th Grammy Awards
