Weekend Sunriseco-host Matt Doran has come out in the wake of an unfun interview with superstar Adele who he confessed to her that he’d not heard her latest albumuntil 30years later,despite receiving the album prior to the release.
The Weekend Sunrise host flew to London on the 4th of November for an exclusive interview. It is reported to have was a cost of $1million for the broadcaster to secure an interview. One Night Only package and the interview.
During the interview of 20 minutes by the pop singer, Matt reportedly didn’t inquire about her latest album, as reported by The Daily Telegraph.
When Adele approached the reporter “What do you think of my album?” she responded: “I haven’t listened to it.”
According to sources, the singer later walked out from the interview, Matt has denied that and also stated that Matt felt “mortified” that he “missed” an email with the album of Adele in the question.
“When I sat down to interview Adele, I was totally unaware that I’d been emailed a preview of her unreleased album,” Matt revealed to the Australian.
“I am now aware that it was delivered to me via an “e card” link that I did not notice upon arriving in London. It was an error, however it was not an intentional denial. The most significant email that I’ve not read.”
“Adele didn’t storm out. In fact, it was the polar opposite,” the host continued.
“What was meant to be 20 minutes was extended to 29 minutes. The majority of the chat was about the album. I told her: ‘I’ve only had the privilege of hearing ‘Easy on Me’, but not the other tracks’.

“As part of a long discussion about the new album, I remark that it would be reductive to say it’s about heartbreak and divorce; instead, it’s about empowerment and hope.”
Following the disastrous interview, Sony then blocked Channel 7 from using the interview footage, forcing the network to hastily piece together footage of artists covering Adele for the One Night Only special aired on Sunday.
Matt stated that at the conclusion his interview, he asked two Sony representatives: “‘Is there anything you want to be struck out? I’m totally confused. I’ve asked Sony to make the interview public.”
He also denied that he’d been banned from Saturday Sunrisefor about two weeks due to the mistake.
