Moira Rose once said that awards season is our best time of year. The glitz, the glitter, and the moments that will definitely go viral.
We’re lucky that award season is almost here. The 2024 Golden Globes will be held in Hollywood on Sunday, January 7.
The Golden Globe Awards will be shown live from The Beverly Hilton. American stand-up comic Jo Koy will be the host. From 11 a.m. AEDT on Monday, January 8, Aussies can watch the whole thing live on Stan.
We’re going to look at the full list of nominees and picks for wins. Movies like Barbie, Oppenheimer, Poor Things, Killers of the Flower Moon, and Past Lives are all up for awards on the big night.
2024 Golden Globes Winners
Barbie is in the lead with nine nominations, so she should have a great night. However, many experts think Oppenheimer and Poor Things will win awards in areas where they are nominated.
Bet365 says that Cillian Murphy will win Best Actor (Drama) for his part in Oppenheimer and Lily Gladstone will win Best Actress (Drama) for her part in Killers of the Flower Moon.
It is thought that Emma Stone will beat her friend Margot Robbie to win the award for Best Actress (Musical or Comedy). Oppenheimer star Robert Downy Jr. is likely to win Best Supporting Actor over Ryan Gosling, who plays Ken in Barbie’s World.
It’s not likely that Barbie will win an award for comedic performance, but the movie is likely to win for Best Original Song, Best Screenplay, and Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.
In the world of TV, Succession is likely to win a lot of awards with its last season.
People think it will win the award for Best Television Series (Drama), and they also think Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, and Matthew Macfayden will win awards for their acting.
Most people think that The Bear will win big in the comedy categories and take home the award for Best Television Series (Musical or Comedy). It is also thought that Jeremy Allen-White and Ayo Edebiri will win the awards for Best Actor and Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy.
