Ferenc “David” Stemler murder : A fourth individual has been charged in connection with the alleged murder of Ferenc “David” Stemler in southwest Sydney in 2023.
Today, police charged a 27-year-old man with murder after Stemler was discovered dead in Canterbury.
Around 2 a.m. on July 27, authorities responded to reports of gunfire on Broughton Street in Canterbury.

Stemler, 28, had suffered gunshot wounds and was treated by paramedics but succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Strike Force Murrell was established to investigate his death.
Around 1:25 p.m. today, a 27-year-old man was arrested at Kempsey Police Station on NSW’s mid-north coast and charged with murder.

Three individuals, including an inmate from Silverwater Jail, have also been charged in connection with Stemler’s fatal shooting and are currently before the courts.
Detectives have additionally charged the man over his alleged involvement in a shooting and home invasion in Lidcombe, western Sydney, in July 2023.
According to police, shots were fired during the break-in, leaving a 31-year-old man injured.
The 27-year-old faces charges of discharging a firearm, aggravated break and enter, and committing a serious indictable offense.
He was denied bail and is set to appear in court tomorrow.
Police previously stated that Stemler had connections to organized crime but was not considered a significant figure in Sydney’s underworld.
They emphasized that there was no specific indication of his involvement in criminal activities, describing him as a local resident who “grew up with a number of people in the area.
