According to the Australian Antarctic Program, minke whales are known for their curious nature.

“They often circle small vessels multiple times and may even approach a moving ship before suddenly darting away at high speed,” an article shared by the program explains.

Antarctic minke whales are rarely spotted in Australian waters, as they typically favor colder, icy environments during the summer months.
