In the last month, the glamorous Channel Seven sports presenter confirmed her romance with AFL player Kane Lambert following months of reports.

“Kane’s very excellent. He’s quite shy and I’m not so, so we’re an ideal pair,” the 31-year-old brunette beauty spoke to The Herald Sun.

The relationship of Abbey Gelmi is a complicated

It is believed that Abbey had a meeting with this Richmond Tigers player through Love Island Australia star Tayla Damir who is engaged to her teammates Nathan Broad.

The romance rumors started in May, when Abbey was a guest Kane to anchor Sam Mac’s book release in Melbourne.

Abbey’s new romance is a follow-up to the end in the breakup of her wedding to Sky News Racing presenter Ben Way.

The end of the year Abbey was born to Olympic famous Herb Elliott – was announced as the new host of House Rules of House Rules along with Jamie Durie before taking the aisle to get married to Ben.

In front of 140 family members and friends, which included stars like the Neighbours‘ Rob Mills and Rob Mills from Neighbours and Sam Frost from Home and Away‘s Sam Frost, Abbey and Ben were married with Lot 100, located in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia.

“Walking down the aisle and seeing [Ben] at the end waiting for me was just something I’ll never forget,” Abbey stated to in the Advertiser at the time.

The Perth-born TV star went to 10 custom fittings with luxurious wedding residence Pallas Couture to design her dream wedding gown.

“The dress was a real princess moment,” she told the press after the wedding.

“I always believed that I was more of a slim, slip-on kind of girl, however, when I wore a princess gown, I knew we’d need to extend the aisle. It was so gorgeous.”

Before they became married, Abbey and Ben met as many others before them – at the work place.

“I had just started an internship at Fox Sports and I was newly single,” Abbey previously revealed to WHO..

“Ben was the anchor and I thought he was pretty cute. It all sort of went from there. We always joke that I pretty much chased him profusely which is sadly the case.”

“We began our journey at the same workplace, which was not without its dramas, but it was fun and we knew right from the beginning that it would be something very special.

“From the first time we kissed it was Okay, this is the way to go. We’ve been going at full speed since then.”

However, the couple had filed for divorce one year after their extravagant wedding in 2019.

Abbey changed her name to her first “Gelmi” title following the shocking breakup.

Abbey is at the peak of her profession, has been a part of the Channel Seven’s Toyko Olympics coverage along with veteran sports journalists Bruce McAvaney and Basil Zempilas and former sprinter Matt Shirvington.

“Olympics is like a mecca to me and something that’s always been important to my family,” she had previously spoke to in the West Australian.

“It’s the most realistic reality TV”, the Olympics – highs, lows, and big blows, no matter who’s participating, everyone is striving for their goals and it’s going be an exciting thing to watch.

“It doesn’t get much more dramatic than people getting one shot in four years or in this case five years, to have a go at their dreams.”
